What does a life coach actually help with?

Life coaching helps you identify what may be holding you back and supports you to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and direction.

Coaching can help with overthinking, self-doubt, perfectionism, confidence, career decisions, boundaries, relationships, motivation, and feeling stuck.

How do I know if life coaching is right for me?

If you feel disconnected, overwhelmed, unfulfilled, stuck in old patterns, or unsure what your next step is, coaching can help you gain clarity and momentum.

Many people come to coaching when they know something needs to change but aren’t sure where to start.

What results can I expect from coaching?

Every person’s journey is different, but clients often experience improved confidence, stronger boundaries, reduced overthinking, clearer goals, better communication, and greater self-belief.

Because the coaching process is highly practical and action-focused, clients often notice increased momentum, improved follow-through, reduced procrastination, and greater consistency in taking action toward the life or leadership goals they want.

Many people also report feeling calmer, more motivated, and more aligned with the life they truly want.

Do you provide accountability between sessions?

Yes. Accountability is one of the biggest reasons coaching creates lasting change. Many clients know what they want to do, but struggle with procrastination, overthinking, perfectionism, or self-doubt.

Coaching provides structure, support, encouragement, and practical accountability to help you follow through on the changes you want to make. Clients also receive personalised session summaries and action steps via email to help maintain focus and momentum between sessions.

What if I’ve already tried everything?

Many clients come to coaching after trying therapy or counselling or self help books/courses to work through challenges on their own. Sometimes what’s missing is objective support, accountability, new strategies, and someone who can help you see your blind spots more clearly.

Coaching is fundamentally future-focused and action-oriented. While we may explore past patterns and limiting beliefs, coaching is designed to help you create practical change moving forward.

What makes your coaching approach different?

My coaching combines practical action-based strategies, emotional support, accountability, and honest conversation. Every session is designed to create meaningful forward movement — not just insight.

Clients also receive a personalised session summary via email with reflections, practical tools, and clear action steps to help maintain momentum between sessions.

I focus on helping people feel more authentic, confident, and empowered in both life and leadership.

What if I don’t know exactly what I want yet?

That’s completely okay. Many people begin coaching feeling confused or disconnected. Clarity often develops through the coaching process itself.

The free 30 minute introductory session can often help initially clarify some directions to explore during further coaching.

Can coaching help after a breakup, divorce, or major life transition?

Yes. Coaching can help people rebuild confidence, reconnect with themselves, process change, and create a clearer vision for the future.

As a divorcee myself, I've lived through this challenge, and solo parenting whilst running/growing a business.

Can coaching help me change careers?

Yes. Career coaching can support you to identify what you truly want, build confidence, explore possibilities, and create a practical action plan.

Can coaching help with confidence and self-esteem?

Yes. A large part of my coaching work focuses on helping people build self-belief, quiet their inner critic, and develop the courage to show up more authentically in life and work.

Do you offer online and in person sessions and workshops?

Yes. I work in-person if you are Wellington NZ based. And online across New Zealand and internationally delivering both coaching and workshops.

Can coaching help with overthinking?

Yes. Overthinking is one of the most common challenges clients bring to coaching. Together we work on identifying thought patterns, reducing self-doubt, building self-trust, and creating practical strategies to move into action.

I’m a perfectionist and constantly hard on myself. Can coaching help?

Absolutely. Many people struggle with perfectionism, procrastination, people-pleasing, and unrealistic expectations of themselves.

Often perfectionism keeps people stuck in overthinking, avoidance, or fear of getting things wrong. Coaching helps break those patterns by combining mindset work with practical action-based strategies, accountability, and manageable steps that build confidence and momentum over time.

The goal is progress, not perfection.

Can coaching help with anxiety?

Coaching can help you better understand your triggers, thought patterns, behaviours, and coping strategies while building confidence and emotional resilience.

Coaching is not a replacement for clinical mental health treatment, but it can complement personal growth and wellbeing support.

I struggle with confidence at work. Can you help?

Yes. Many clients seek support around speaking up, leadership confidence, career progression, visibility, and believing in themselves professionally.

Why do smart, capable people still struggle with self-doubt?

Often, self-doubt is driven by long-standing beliefs, conditioning, comparison, fear of failure, or fear of judgment.

Coaching helps people challenge these patterns and reconnect with their strengths. Learning how to reassure and negotiate with our inner critic can be life changing.

Who is leadership coaching for?

Can leadership coaching help with impostor syndrome?

Absolutely. Many capable leaders struggle with self-doubt, fear of failure, or feeling like they’re not good enough. Coaching helps uncover the beliefs driving those patterns and develops strategies to lead with greater confidence and authenticity.

What leadership topics do you coach around?

Leadership coaching can include emotional intelligence, communication, confidence, difficult conversations, resilience, team engagement, conflict management, decision-making, visibility, boundaries, burnout prevention, and leadership presence.

Can you help new managers or emerging leaders?

Yes. Coaching can help new leaders develop confidence, communication skills, leadership strategies, and a stronger sense of identity in their role. Building a personal brand and presence.

How does leadership coaching improve team performance?

Better leadership often creates better communication, stronger trust, healthier workplace culture, improved morale, and more engaged teams.

Vicky is that "someone in your corner" when you are having a tough time. She shares fabulous insight into your circumstances then you get a great follow up email with a summary of takeaway points. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to someone in a difficult business situation. I worked with her for six months and received tremendous value from our sessions.

In a period of major upheaval in my life, I found myself sitting in a café feeling stuck and overwhelmed by the question of “what next?”. On a whim I googled career coach, and I’m so grateful that search led me to Vicky. From our very first meeting, her energy, positivity, and genuine care came through. Because I had the time available, I signed up for the Dream Builder programme, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. What I’ve taken away from my weekly sessions with Vicky is truly priceless. The tools, insights, and mindset shifts she helped me build have had an impact on every part of my life, not just my career. She guided me through some big moments, helped me navigate uncertainty, and made the process feel lighter with plenty of fun and laughter along the way. I can’t recommend Vicky highly enough. If you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or simply ready for something more, she’s an incredible person to have in your corner.

Vicky is a fantastic collaborator and thought-provoker in her life coaching work. I found her sessions to be very well run and useful in thinking about 'life stuff' in a different manner. Each session was always followed up with prompt and professionally laid out notes to record what was covered. Would use again!

I have just completed 5x leadership and life sessions and I've booked 5 more. Vicky has helped me with my overthinking, self-sabotage, and anxiety. She's given me practical tools to combat these thoughts when they arise and given me hope that I can change the way I think and pursue my ambitions. I highly recommend her.

Even in just one session, Vicky helped me tackle my overthinking, comparison habit, self-doubt, and fear of showing up online. these are crippling for a small business owner like me! Her Summary of Goals and Actions became my guide. I kept re-reading it for months, and slowly, I started seeing real change in myself. I highly recommend her!

Vicky has been instrumental in helping to transform the way I see myself. I initially thought a leadership/life coach would 'teach' me how to be better organised, better at giving and receiving feedback, completing important work I usually avoid etc Instead Vicky has helped me realise I already have skills, abilities and the tenacity to make changes but for many reasons I'd convinced myself that I couldn't. It is a subtle difference, what seem like small or incremental changes, mostly in how I mentally approach or perceive things, has been transformative. And when I forget to use the approach or it doesn't work - I don't beat myself up about it, cause I know I 'can' and I will get there - so overall a whole lot happier, confident and enjoying life ... its not really easy to explain, its like magic or a Jedi-mind trick! But 10/10 would recommend.

Vicky helped me think about how I could resolve some (private and work) issues I was probably avoiding, or not knowing where to start. She listened, provided caring feedback and structure to get me thinking. I found her to be super nice, practical and encouraging. Well worth the investment.

"Life-Changing." I have found the authentic ME! Vicky's unwavering support, knowledge, expertise, and accountability have helped immensely! Without releasing, I had withdrawn and developed an unhealthy view of myself as being unworthy, a fraud, and lacking confidence. This non-serving mindset changed after our first coaching session and continues to grow/develop as we work towards the end goal. It's been a journey, but I now belong at the table! Thank you, Vicky.

I found Vicky at a point when I felt incredibly low, lacking self esteem and confidence. All I needed was someone to give me the much needed push and motivation and Vicky did just that and much more. Vicky has a holistic approach in dealing with concerns, breaking things down one at a time and addressing them tactfully. Five sessions down with Vicky and I can certainly feel the difference in myself, my attitude and my general approach with life obstacles. Vicky has an incredibly positive aura, her voice and words has this energy that instantly lifts you up. Her post session notes are nothing but awesome and empowering to go back and re-read. Vicky is passionate in her role as a life coach and I can now see how she has an impact on people’s lives. I’m very grateful our paths crossed. I would 100% recommend to anyone who needs a little guidance with their life goals.
